The Carny Blog Tour: Book Excerpt

I'm really excited to be able to share a book excerpt from a wonderful new novel from Brooke Moss. It's a contemporary romance called The Carny, and came out on the 7th July 2012!

     We went back to the carnival every night they were in Astoria that year, looking for the tall, dark, and elusvie Vin Youngblood. But we never spotted him again. Kasey and I even went so far as to follow the carnival to nearby Florence. We searched and searched the carnival, following the carnie's around and trying to sneak into the employee's only trailer, wanting to catch only a glimpse of the young man who'd rocked my world with a single kiss. But no go.
     It was as if he'd disappeared into thin air.
     For over a decade, I'd been comparing every kiss I shared with a man to the lone kiss Vin gave me. It didn't matter how good the kisses were. What mattered was: could they make me feel dizzy and weightless? Were they able to awaken every single nerve ending in my body, and shake my soul like a leaf in the wind?
     That kiss. That one kiss at the entrance gate of the tilt-a-whirl when I was eighteen was enough to give me hope. Hope that real romance and real passion actually existed in the world. It might not exist between my workaholic father and frigid mother, and it might not exist in my life. But out there, somewhere. . .it does exist.
