Interview With Book Blogger, Kyra!

Today I have Kyra on my blog! She is a brilliant book blogger as well as a lovely person and friend. So when she offered to do an interview at Booked Up! I was really excited.

Hi Kyra!
Hi Jess! Thank you so much for having me on Booked Up! I feel privileged to be interviewed by you! :)

1. What made you decide to start your book blog?
I decided to start a book blog because of my love for reading. Since I started reading, I haven't been able to stop. Whenever I read a brilliant book I just want to tell everyone about it, but not many of my friends love reading and books as much as me, so I couldn't blabber to anyone about the amazing new book I just read or the awesome books I just bought. So I decided to start a book blog in hope that I could share my love of books to fellow bookaholics like myself! :)

Karen McCombie

2. If you could meet one author, who would it be and why?
If I could meet one author it would have to be. . . Karen McCombie or E.D. Baker or Cathy Cassidy again. They all write amazing books and they seem like really nice people!

3. What advice  have you got for new book bloggers?
My advice to new book bloggers would have to be stick with your blog. Sometimes it can be a bit daunting seeing all the other fabulous blogs out there and sometimes it might feel like you won't be able to have a successful blog, but if you truly love writing and you love the thought of what your it might become, then be determined to keep posting, because people will follow an comment on your blog soon, but it does take time.

4. If you met someone who said they hated books, what novel would you give them to change their mind?
Well, if someone said they didn't like reading I would, firstly, stare at them and then I would try and think of a polite way of saying "How can you NOT like reading?!" I would recommend Life as We Knew it by Susan Pfeffer. She wrote it AMAZINGLY. Just the thought of what could happen near the end of the world is enough to send shivers down a person's spine, but as the protagonist, Miranda, describes the catastrophe that has left the Earth in ruins you feel like you are really there, you feel like you are experiencing it and then you just stare at the awesome book in your hands, stunned, at what you just read. It is a MUST read.

5. What is one book genre you never go near?
I never touch horror and thriller. I'm a complete wimp and just the thought of what those genres may contain. . . well, lets just say if I read a book from either one of those genres, I probably wouldn't be able to sleep for a year.

6. And finally, what do you want Blog of a Bookaholic to achieve in the future?
I'm already really happy at what my blog has achieved. I have met so many new people, heard about so many new fantastic books and I have finally *jumping up and down like a maniac* reached 100 followers. So all that I could hope for my blog to achieve would have to be more people reading my reviews, discussing books with me and commenting on my posts. I would also LOVE to reach 1000 followers someday, but most importantly I would love it if my blog could encourage more people to read. I hope that my blog will be running for a long, long time as well.

Thank you so much Jess for interviewing me on your wonderful blog!
Love Kyra

Isn't she sweet? I hope you enjoyed the interview!
